Scrimbles or Scrimbles the Elf is a book elf that appears on Page 79 of The Book of Bill.
History
Scrimbles appears in the Morality section of the book and is used by Bill Cipher as a moral test. Bill explains that Scrimbles is chained up to the page and there is no way to get him out. His bones are made of glass and will break if the page is turned, resulting in his death. However, if the reader does not turn the page, they will never see the rest of Bill's book.
Bill in turn puts one in a moral dilemma; spare Scrimbles life or fulfilling your fleeting amusement and crush him to death by turning the page. Scrimbles himself expresses obvious mercy from the reader, stating he is just a little elf. However, he also mentions that the other pages do sound interesting.
Bill later mentions on another page that while this version of Scrimbles is dead, there's another version of him who is alive and well in an alternate reality somewhere in the multiverse.
Scrimbles is mentioned again by Bill at the end of the book after presumably the page is turned and he is killed. After realizing he's losing the reader to the Pines' message of ignoring him, he reminds them that they killed "an elf" for him without even blinking.
Appearance
Scrimbles is a purple Book Elf with a white beard and darker purple nose. He has one giant tooth poking upwards on his left side. He also has massive ears and wears only a brown hat and cloth. He appears to be miserable being chained up in the book and both seems to not want to die but also expresses curiosity to what else Bill has to share.
