All animation is black magic. This article contains information on a subject that is not considered canon in the Gravity Falls universe.
Chibiverse is a spin-off series to Chibi Tiny Tales, produced by Disney Television Animation. It follows the adventures of characters from various Disney series (including Gravity Falls) interacting with each other.
The series is drawn in an anime-esque "chibi" style. Unlike its parent series, Chibiverse has full voice acting.
As the intro explains, in an underground laboratory, a group of scientists took objects from various Disney Channel shows and films and put them in a machine (for Gravity Falls, a copy of Journal 3), resulting in the creation of a small glowing bean sized orb that, when viewed underneath a microscope, showed a chibi-fied world inhabited by characters from the various shows. The series follows the quirky and comical adventures of these characters interacting with one another.
The first season revolves in a clip show manner with various Chibi characters hosting and mini shorts playing involving other characters.
In the second season, the series switches to a faux game show format.
In the third season and continuing into the fourth one, the series again switched format into each episode having 3 different 7-minute original plot story segments lacking any shorts. It isn't until this season that characters from Gravity Falls have speaking roles.
